Police investigate kinder fire
VICTORIAN detectives investigating a fire at a kindergarten in Melbourne's north-east believe it was deliberately lit.Firefighters were called to a kindergarten and community centre in Doreen Rogen Way, at South Morang, after reports of a fire about 12.30am today, Victoria Police said.
The fire started in wheelie bins next to the building and quickly spread to the roof section before firefighters brought it under control.
"A resident told police two boys, believed to be teenagers, ran away from the area after the fire started," Senior Constable Wayne Wilson said.
Police are urging anyone who may have seen people acting suspiciously in the area at the time of the fire to contact them.
The cost of the damage has not been assessed.
